Otto Frederick Nachtigall was born on 01 Nov 1869 in Germany to August F. Nachtigall (1833-1890) and Charlotte Sophia Elizabeth Kober (1839-1927). Otto had nine siblings:

- Herman Fredrec (my 2nd great grandfather; 1866-1934)

- Charlotte (1872-1937)

- Louise B. (1874)

- Maria H. (1878-1901)
Otto arrived in the states in 1878.
Otto first married to Ida May Bescler (1869-?) on 21 Dec 1896 in Wheaton, Illinois. They had one child together:
- Louis Francis Nightingale (changed his last name; 1897-1943)
Otto married Anna Teresia (or Theresa) Quist. Anna is also my 2nd great grand aunt, so Otto and Anna are in some fashion are related to each other (2nd or 3rd cousins?, I'm not good at figuring that out in my head). Otto and Anna were married on 18 Jul 1904. Otto and Anna had six children:
- Grace Marie (1905-1960)
- Alice Bernice (1906-?)
- Ruth Esther (1908-1997)
- Roy Otto (1911-1994)
- Marion Charlotte (1915-2004)
- Gladys (1922-1997)
Otto died on 19 Nov 1949 at age 80. Otto is buried at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
