2016 Ancestor #6 - Otto Frederick Nachtigall

Otto is my 2nd great grand uncle.

Otto Frederick Nachtigall was born on 01 Nov 1869 in Germany to August F. Nachtigall (1833-1890) and Charlotte Sophia Elizabeth Kober (1839-1927).  Otto had nine siblings:

• Herman Fredrec (my 2nd great grandfather; 1866-1934)

• Charlotte (1872-1937)

• Louise B. (1874)

• Maria H. (1878-1901)

Otto arrived in the states in 1878.

Otto first married to Ida May Bescler (1869-?) on 21 Dec 1896 in Wheaton, Illinois.  They had one child together:

• Louis Francis Nightingale (changed his last name; 1897-1943)

Otto married Anna Teresia (or Theresa) Quist.  Anna is also my 2nd great grand aunt, so Otto and Anna are in some fashion are related to each other (2nd or 3rd cousins?, I'm not good at figuring that out in my head).  Otto and Anna were married on 18 Jul 1904.  Otto and Anna had six children:

• Ruth Esther (1908-1997)
• Roy Otto (1911-1994)
• Marion Charlotte (1915-2004)
• Gladys (1922-1997)

Otto died on 19 Nov 1949 at age 80.  Otto is buried at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.

2016 Ancestor #5 - Maude Esta Carrico

Maude is my 2nd great aunt.

Maude Esta Carrico was born in Pineville, Arkansas on 16 Jun 1887 to Basil Jordan Carrico (1848-1926) and Margaret Susan Riley (1852-1940).  Maude was the youngest of six children:

• Arminda Jane (1871-1960)
• Josiah Converse (my 2nd great grandfather; 1873-1957)
• Lewis Harrison (1875-1876)
• Herbert Decature (1877-1969)
• Anna Mae (1880-1971)

Maude married Oscar J. Randolph.  They had two daughters together.

Maude died on 14 Aug 1963 in Yakima, Washington at age 76.

2016 Ancestor #4 - William Oscar Green

William is my 3rd great uncle.

William Oscar Green was born on 15 Dec 1859 in Avon, Wisconsin to John Jacob Green (1826-1892) and Louisa Alvira Babcock (1830-1893).  William had ten siblings:

William married Louisa Evans (1866-1951) on 23 Dec 1886 in Rock County, Wisconsin.  They had two children:

• Maude E. (1888-1966)
• Gerald William (1895-1965)

William died on 18 Dec 1921 at age 62.  William is buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Brodhead, Wisconsin.

Ida is my 2nd great grand aunt.

Ida Gladys McNeal was born on 14 Jan 1899 in Illinois to Charles Daniel McNeal (1858-1937) and Mary Louisa Alfred (1858-1941).  Ida was the youngest of thirteen:

• Kate Effie (1887-?)

Ida married Carl W. Benson and had two sons with him.

Ida died on 29 Nov 1966 at age 67 in Santa Clara, California.

2016 Ancestor #2 - August B. Nachtigall

August is my 3rd great grand uncle.

August B. was born on 24 Oct 1864 in Neukirchen, Germany to August F. Nachtigall (1833-1890) and Charlotte Sophia Elizabeth Kober (1839-1927).  August was the second of ten children:

August married Elizabeth Miller.  Some of the census note August being married to an Alice.  By the 1880's census August is living in the US in Milton, Illinois.

August died on 16 Aug 1848 at age 83.

Anna Mae is my 2nd great aunt.

Anna Mae Carrico was born on 04 Jun 1880 in Wild Cherry, Arkansas to Basil Jordan Carrico (1848-1926) and Margaret Susan Riley (1852-1940).  Anna is five siblings:

Anna married William Henry Wilkerson (1882-1948) on 31 Aug 1902 in Beaty, Arkansas.  They had eight children together:

• Clifford Homer (1908-1979)
• William Henry (1910-1999)
• Lemora (1912-?)
• Panzie (1918-?)
• Martha Margaret (1928-2007)

It appears Anna lived her whole life in Arkansas.  The 1910 census has Anna living in Apple Glenn and the 1920, 1930 and 1940 census she is living in Mount Vernon.

Anna died on 10 Jun 1971 at age 91 in Bentonville, Arkansas.  Anna is buried at Buttram Chapel Cemetery in Pea Ridge, Arkansas.

Isaac is my 4th great uncle.

Isaac Sanborn Green was born on 02 Feb 1858 in Avon, Wisconsin to John Jacob Green (1826-1892) and Louisa Alvira Babcock (1830-1893).  Isaac was the sixth of eleven children:
